Hope your week
was great and hope you have a good Halloween, as for me and my house we'll be
busy serving the Lord. haha
This was a great
week we got to teach a lot of people. It's very easy to get into people's
homes, usually if they're home they will let us in to teach them especially
about JESUS. The people here are all Christian, most of them believe in all
Christian religions though and about half of the people believe in Shembe
(basically a black Jesus) haha. They are
very deep into what they call "ancestors" which is like all the
saogomas they call them or witch doctors, I would say there is about one for
every 10 houses here. A LOT! We were teaching a lesson this week and out of no
where this man walked in with his witch doctor skirt and animal skins and had a
huge pot of burning ashes that filled the room we were all coughing and ya...
it was really smoky! I guess it was for respect for the ancestors I don't
really understand it but anyway.. Nozipho is ready for baptism, we can't this
week because of stake conference but she is ready! There is also Zinhle who is
a 40 yr old ma that is ready.
Like I said we can teach everyone and they believe us and
accept it to be true, but aren't willing to do anything about it which can be a
little saddening.
One thing I love
though is teaching about the restoration... It's so powerful! I can't hear
about the first vision without knowing to my very core it's true! Even with all
these times I've taught it I still feel the same way.
My comp and I
spoke in sacrament this week and it went great (a lot better than my farewell)
haha that's something I would like to improve on though. We got to go on exchanges which was great I
went with Elder Chapo! He's awesome and taught me a lot. I love how he's able
to teach simply but still get them to understand.
This week we didn't have Halloween, but I think it was some
Indian holiday (where we live is all Indians) it's basically like 4th of July
here every night there have been SOOO many huge fireworks going off.. Happy
Halloween though hope all goes well this week! It will be a good one for me I'm
sure(:

PS I need a haircut but NO ONE cuts white hair here! ...They've never seen a white person so they won't cut it! I'll make someone cut it this week so that should be an adventure! Stay tuned haha!
