This week was
another good one in KwaMashu! We have taught a lot of people and continue to
meet new people everyday.
First the bad
news, both of our baptisms that were supposed to happen this week got moved
back for different reasons which really bummed me out :( I was very excited and
I know they both will eventually get baptized.. The Lord has his own timing
though. So we won't have any baptisms
for at least another week..
Good news, I got to go to a soccer game!! WHATTT it was a
district activity and I was so excited, the atmosphere was indescribable
ahha. It was held in the Moses Mabida
Stadium (world cup played there) and was awesome... but that wasn't the best
news although it was fun!
We have met a Family this week!! The Machi
family! They're so amazing and love when we visit... here when someone visits
there's usually like a drink offered (usually fanta or coke) and they usually
bring biscuits as well and I love it. Anyway there is one Gogo and 2 babas and
1 little girl. The little girl is the only one that has come to church for the
last 2 weeks now and she loves everything we teach her.
The other good
news is we got to hear from Elder Palmer of the 70 again as the Durban Stake
got a new stake presidency. He's such an amazing speaker one of the things that
stuck out in his talk that I loved was regarding to challenges, he said "I love how the Book of Mormon
talks about how to deal with challenges in every single page, every page
contains the words ..."and it came to pass"haha I thought that was
pretty cleaver, but so true! Every challenge we have "comes to pass"
I also was able to give my first Priesthood blessing this
week, to one of our investigators named Portia. She was so sick she couldn't
even sit up, but she was crying because she had training for her first job in 8
years. I had no clue what to say, but all I remember saying was that she would
be healed for her job tomorrow. I was expecting instant results and have to
admit I was a little disappointed when right when I ended she like passed out
from her migraine. I was thinking that maybe I was wrong, but then the next day
she called and was SO excited to tell us she was able to go to her training and
felt great. The priesthood is real. I know it! I'm so grateful Heavenly Father
has enough trust in us to hold it if we live worthy of it!
Love you, and have a good week!
