Hey Family –
Another great
week in Masianokeng! Things are starting to get a little bit more comfortable
as I adjust to the new culture, names, language and country. We worked really
hard again this week and were able to teach a lot of people. We have about 5-8
promising investigators right now. The most promising is probably Mpho and his
2 friends Francis, and Dankiso. They're all around 20-25 and are so curious
about the gospel. It's so fun to teach them because you can just see their
eagerness to learn and understand. Mpho has a smoking problem but other than
that I don't see anything really stopping them from progressing. We also have
Nteheleseng and Nklokisang haha I don't know how to say it and it's really hard
for me to remember some of their names. The people I've met with in my mission
so far are so faithful but honestly it's so sad to see the confusion that they
get from listening to these false pastors. What a blessing it is to have the
fullness of the gospel.
Mpho and his
buddies should be baptized on Feb. 11th, as well as the other two. I
had some really cool lessons learnt this past week through my studies. I read
Alma 56-58 this week, which makes me forever grateful for mom. She's been my
biggest blessing no doubt. I'm so lucky to have her and to have been taught not
only by her words but more importantly her example. She truly amazes me and I
must've done something special in the pre-mortal life to deserve her.(; I also
enjoyed the worldwide devotional by Pres. Utchdorf and his wife. I felt the
spirit so strong as they testified to us to trust HF. He's the best coach and
has a plan for each one of us to play on his team. Pray to find out how you can
play a role in his team, I promise no matter what you've done or what you lack
there's a spot for you. I also had a very special experience as I got to watch
the new assignment of the church's 1st presidency. I love each one of those
apostles especially our Prophet Pres. Nelson. He is a special man and each one
is truly called of God. I know that this church is true. It really is what can
bring us happiness and peace in this life. CTR.
Bless up
Elder Thompson
