Hola-
They definitely
aren't speaking Spanish or Zulu or English here haha but my first week in
Lesotho has been awesome! It's soooo much different than any of the areas I've
been in so far they speak Sesotho here and it's sounding like Chinese. So I
don't really know how to talk to many people, but most of them speak enough English
to get by! It's super hot and dry and dusty here and we've been walking so I'm
looking pretty tan now, and sweating a lot! Shout out to Morgan for sending me
a water bottle it's coming in clutch now! haha
My new companion
is Elder Ntaka from Joberg. He's such a cool guy and hard worker and I can tell
he's an answer to my prayers. He joined the church in 2015 and is the only
member in his family. He's the best soccer player I've ever seen and we have a
lot in common including being born on the same exact day! Haha but yeah I can
tell we'll get along great! We worked super hard this past week which was
awesome! The people here are soo humble here, when they greet you they say
"endati" which is like father I don't know how to describe it but
it's super respectful. Also because they're so humble it gives us a lot more
opportunities to teach people. I am struggling suppperrr hard to remember names
because all the names here are new but we have some really promising
investigators. 1 his name is Mpho he's 23 and is super interested in the
gospel. He wants us to come see him like 3 times a week and every time we go he
invites more people. Church is pretty cool it's in these white containers I'll
send you a picture. Other than that I don't really have much to say other than
I got to tell one of our investigators my kind of own personal conversion story
and hear my companion’s as well and as I did that I just felt the spirit sooo
strong that this is true. I know that God has answered my prayers in the past
and continues to everyday. "seek and ye shall find" I'm so grateful
for this chance I have to serve among the humble people of Lesotho.
Bless up
Elder Thompson
