Saubona,
Howzit??? Crazy
to think it's only been a week since we last talked. This week I got to go on
exchanges with Elder Reed, it's always interesting to be able to work with
other people. Sometimes it's kinda inconvenient though if you have to miss an
appointment you really were looking forward to. Luckily I got to stay in
Dundee!
We still have a
lot to teach Pearl and Phumelele but I really think they're on the right track,
they were able to accept the invitation to be baptized on June 11th, which
should be my last Sunday in Dundee. We have a member that has gone through some
similar problems in her life so we take her when we teach them. The big one for
them will be the Word of Wisdom. I think
Phumelele is a bit more promising, but Pearl can do it too! Other than that,
Janice also committed to baptism on that same day! She needs to come to church
though. It's tough because she works on Sunday's.
At church this
week Sibusiso was able to be confirmed (2nd councilor’s son) that was cool for
Pres Mazibuko (his dad's name) I don't know why he waited until he was 9, but
at least they did it right? Also this guy that's missing a hand, Baba Benghu,
came to church for the first time this week in like 5 years. We were SOOO happy
to see him there!! He was saying now he can come next week, because he was just
so nervous to come for the first time. Other than that Pearl and Phume came to
church again (3 times now) and this time they were comfortable with it and with
the people. They were asking really good questions and I think it also helped
the branch to be reminded of things too. It's awesome to see their
participation already! Also on the way to church we were talking and I asked Phume
if she had a man and she said yes I'm not going to lie, but I'm praying that
God will take him away because I know it's not right. It's cool to see how even
though we haven't taught about the Law of Chastity yet the spirit is guiding
her to do what's right.
We have Zone
Conference this week, so I'm stoked for that... even though I was pretty heated
because Elder Rasband came to Durban, but they didn't let us go and see him so
we'll get to listen to his recorded talk that he gave to some of our mission on
Wednesday. Can't wait for the good things coming! Have a good week. Choose the right ya'll.
Love-
Elder Thompson
