It was so great
to see the family and to hear that all is well! Happy Late Mother's day again
mom you're the best mom a boy could ask for!
This week was
awesome! We saw lots of miracles (like we do each week) We got to meet Janice
and Farzannah this week. Janice is a
colored lady that is SUPER Catholic hhah. Everywhere in her house there are
crosses and all those pictures of our Savior. At first she was having trouble
with the Book of Mormon because she had been told some false things about it.
But it was good to sit down and talk with her about it and to be able to
testify about the truth of it. It really does strengthen your testimony when
you truly care about these people and know that this gospel can change their
life. As for Farzannah, she's from
Nigeria and she has a really bad drinking problem, she's been through a lot in
her life and wants to quit so bad. It's so sad to see people with addictions
struggle. I really hope and pray she can get over it!
We got a strange
phone call inviting us to this less-active girl's little brother and sister's
birthday party! Hahah so we went and there were about 20 kids piled into a 1
room house haha they were scooping the cake out in the kids bare hands and just
letting them go at it! Anyway, while we were there we met 2 girls about 28
years old that asked about our church and we told them about it, but didn't
think much about it because they didn't seem serious. Then we saw them walking
when we were in the priesthood class (last one) They walked about 3 k's in the
freezing pouring rain to come to church!! So we set an appointment for them
this week, i'm super grateful for the miracles we're seeing. The black Pearl
(what she calls herself) and Mphumelele were able to make it to church again
this week!
It was so great
to see all is well at home! Thank you for your prayers!
Love,
Elder Thompson
