Etta Etta!
So this week, on
Monday Elder Rowe and I did a hike on the "Dundee Smile", which was
super dope. I had to pull out my inner 4-wheeling to get our car on top of this
mountain. It's on an animal reserve, and they just let you hike for free. They
do all kinds of hunts up there and people come from all around the world so the
whole time I was a bit worried about getting shot! Hahah but we got to hike
right next to zebra, wildabeast, some weird antelope type of creatures... and
the scariest part was as we were close to the top this warthog darted in front
of me! Fastest thing I've seen in my life hahah! So hopefully I can send some
cool pics.
Other than that
we did a Book of Mormon stand in the middle of the town, where there's all
kinds of little shops and things like street markets. (People selling fake
nike's and things) haha we met a lot of people by doing that. It's just so fun
the type of people you meet doing missionary work, we met people who stopped
and said they were members visiting from Mozambique for holiday and pretty much
every kind of person you can imagine haha! That's one thing I love about SA,
there's so many different cultures and types of people with different religious
backgrounds. In Dundee alone there must be at least 40 churches!
This week I got
to go on exchanges with Elder Rasmussen (from D hills) it was so cool to get to
spend a day with him. I really look up to him, I can see such a HUGE difference
in him since high school, and I hope I can follow the kind of person he is. We
had a lot of fun and we ended up running into this young man named Mhlangie. He
seems to be so prepared for the gospel. It really is so amazing how led we are
as missionaries. Sometimes we get use to feeling the spirit I think so we don't
realize what we have, and I'm sure it's the same with anyone that's a member.
We really do just have a light about us as we're worthy of the Holy Ghost’s
presence.
Other than that
Conference was like Christmas! Such a cool time to get to hear from our church
leaders, who are without a doubt inspired! I felt the spirit so strongly as I
listened to the talks, and I can't wait to get to go over them again! Some of
my favs were: Elder Sabin, Elder Holland, President Utchdorf's, and Yoon Hwan
Choi!
Okay so now that
we're all fueled up for the next 6 months on conference, lets be a little
better (:
Love you all-
have a great week!
