Hello Hello,
We had a good
week here in Dundee! Elder Rowe and I have been working hard and enjoying being
missionaries! He's a really nice guy and I've loved working with him so far!
One thing I really love about him is how creative he is! We've set up stands, met with bank managers
and just about all the companies in Dundee, we are going to be doing a Book of
Mormon study at the library! It's going well here!
We have just had
miracles meeting people to teach and things.. We went to this one less active’s
house named Spe and visited with her for probably 5 minutes and that's all it
took to get her to come to church again!! While we were there she introduced us
to 3 of her sisters that want to be baptized and 1 new family that we should be
meeting this week. As for the other people, we stopped by the Baatjies just to
check up on them and they seem to be doing well, just need a little more time
but they said we can stop by anytime just to check up on them and everything,
so we aren't giving up on them! We went to visit Ntombela this week and he
wasn't there, so we were kinda bummed but his 2 sisters were so we taught them
and as we were teaching them 5 other college student age people came in and
listened and were really interested, asking great questions and some were even
like taking notes haha It was so cool to be apart of!
Then on Sunday we
got to go to Madadeni in Newcastle for Elder Rowe, he just left that area and was requested to
baptize one of their investigators, it was the first baptism for that branch so
I know that was a cool experience for him! While we were there I got to see
Elder Depriest and he's doing well and I also saw Elder Williams who was
actually Elder Rowe's last companion!
Also Elder Rasmussen is my district leader so I get to see him a lot and
that's cool (he's from Desert Hills)
This week I've
been studying the BOM and I've been reading about Alma and one thing I find so
interesting is how the church was the EXACT same as it is today.. Guess that's
why it's a restoration, duh. Haha! So
I've loved to read about Alma and how faithful both he and the members of the
church were in that day, willing to risk their lives for the truth. I’m going
to try my best to be like Alma this week and "speak to as many as will
hear my voice"!! Love you all have
a great week!
Love,
Elder Thompson
