Saubona!
This week we got
to visit with a lot of people! Probably even more fun than the cruise.. hahah
The bad news for
the week is that the Baajties family called us and said they need some time
because their son was arrested. That made me and Elder DePriest really sad. but
we're still praying for them. We got to meet some other new people this week
though. We met some Hindus and
Muslims... which are actually really nice people! They aren't that scary when
you talk to them hahah. I don't think we're allowed to teach the Muslims but we
made an appointment with a nice Hindu family, the mom's name is Jane so I'm
excited for that this week! We also cut this gogo's yard down full of shoulder
high grass with machetes which was a new experience for me hahah! I've never
seen such big spider webs in my whole life! As we got to the end we found a
weed tree as tall as her house (wish I had my camera to get a pic) but we
chopped it down and gogo told us to throw it in the neighbors yard ahhaha!
After that I was
feeling really sick, but I prayed to make it through to one investigator Scott,
a 39 year old man from Brighton, England! We were really praying for him and
what to teach all week. When we got there they gave us the family history and
told us everything they sold and stuff. We were kind of shocked... then they told
us how their great grandfather was the choir boy for the main Church of England
or something like that and he was saying he didn't need to listen to our
message because he never goes to church and he doesn't feel anything. I was
kind of aggressive and I basically told him, “ look man we have a video that
takes 5 minutes you're going to listen to it “hahah. They finally let us show
the video, after showing us everything, even
pulling out scrap books and all kinds of items. Then we played the video,
"Mountains To Climb" ...( I think I was kinda inspired by Kob and his
email it kind of reminded me of that video) anyway Scott started crying! The spirit was so strong, and his mom told us
he hadn't cried EVER. He hated spiritual things but he really opened up after
that and it was amazing to see and be apart of. He doesn't think we can get through
to him, but I know the Spirit can! The Spirit is so powerful and it can soften
even the hardest of hearts. I'm so grateful for that experience. Well that's all the good stuff from my week!
Hope you had a good week! (:
Love,
Elder Thompson
