Hello
This week was a
good one! I was a little bit busy because I had to see a doctor on Tuesday to
make sure everything was okay.. but after that Elder DePriest and I tried our
best to focus really hard on finding new people to teach! That's one of my
favorite things to do and it's the easiest, all we need to do is open our
mouths! haha There are people surrounding us throughout everyday and it's a
little scary, but very easy just to open our mouths. What's the worst that can
happen?
Anyway this week
we've met people from all over the world speaking many different languages and
I look forward to getting to know them more!
One of the families we happened to run into was the Baajities family!
They are so awesome and their daughter Lezial happens to be best friends with
one of our members!! They are a very humble family who have been very accepting
of the gospel so far. Another bonus is that there is a father in the family!!
Haha but we had one of the best lessons of my mission so far last night. It was
such an amazing feeling to see the family surrounding us as we began to teach
about the restoration, and as we got into it a little bit the father stopped us
and told the mom to get all the kids! Haha he wanted everyone to be apart of
the lesson and to hear and feel of the spirit. That's the best part about the mission
to me. To teach about the gospel and have the spirit there so strong and see it
in their eyes that they can feel it too. What we have is so special and I know
it changes families’ lives. I am just so grateful that we happened to run into
that house out of all the houses at the time we did... I know "there's no
coincidences when you're on the Lords errand" -Elder Bednar.
This week we also
got to start our mission fast. It's the coolest idea I've ever heard!! So we're
fasting for 40 days and 40 nights. And obviously not on our own haha, but each
district has 2 times that they need to fast over the next 40 days. We were
fasting to find more father led families and many other things, including
personal purposes. One of the things I was fasting for was more confidence in
my teaching. I know it might surprise you but I get kind of shy sometimes and
can't say always what I want. But this past week I know that the Lord has helped
me with these two things. I have never felt more confident as I'm teaching and
we have run into so many father led families over this past week. I know that
fasting works and even though it's hard I'm thankful for this challenge which
has helped me realize as we're specific with our fast, the Lord blesses us
specifically.

have a good week! I'm loving the chance I get to serve people everyday, and I
can see that really is what brings us the most joy in this life. As we serve
willingly the Lord blesses us!
