This week was POWER!
This is the week I've been waiting for, a week
where I got to see the fruits of my labors. There's so much to tell so I'll
start out with the not spiritual part...
We got FED this week especially Friday! Holy smokes man Friday
was like one of those days where I was praying I would be able to eat it all..
then they just kept coming out with more food.. Wow! It made me think of the
stories from my brothers when like the Ma wasn't looking and they fed it to the
dog or something. I went with the
daughter but same thing right? haha
For my comps
birthday we had a party that night and ate some cake and it was really fun!
Okay but for the
branch Christmas Party it was like an actual party!! Hahah. They don't mess
around in Kwa Mashu. They were playing songs like panda and stuff and everyone
from the Branch President to the 3 yr. olds were like hip hop dancing and I was
laughing so hard! Just seeing these 50 yr. old Ma's dancing like that is so
funny!!! We ate beef curry and beet root and zulu spinich and butternut. It was a really good time!
Oh and mom don't
freak out but my shoes got taken this week as well as my wallet.. :( I was
really sad because it had my temple recommend that has dad's signature on it!) And they opened your package you sent me I thought it was my Christmas one..
but all that I saw in it was a letter and a pair of socks and candy so I'm not
sure what was taken. They also took some pics so that's weird haha but we're
safe and protected so don't worry about us.. We're moving houses! Sorry I
didn't want to tell you!
The best part
about this week though was the baptisms.
It was soooo cool to see all of our investigators being baptized. Their
names are Lungile (small girl), Nozipho (from earlier pics), Minenhle, and
Loraine (the mom). I got to baptize them and it was so special. I was so nervous because there were more
people there than in sacrament meeting. Like 70 people! All of these people were
so prepared, I even think these are some of the ones that I prayed to find even
before I got to my mission. Loraine is our Branch President’s neighbor and from
the second we met her I knew she was prepared. The spirit that was there in
that meeting was amazing. I love the peace that comes from the spirit. I'm very
lucky to have met these people and to be their guide in learning about the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'll send lots of pics this week.
Love,
Elder Thompson
PS. Go OH!!!!!
