Howdy,
Wowzers this week
has been filled with new and exciting experiences. So the new area, Molweni, is
a township and more jungley, if that's a word.. kind of how my first area was.
Our boarding is in the coolest place like in the middle of this jungle (don't
worry mom it's safe) I'll send you a picture next week but it's pretty rad. It's
also a bit colder here than Dundee, I think because of the humidity. Our area
is on the top of this mountain and over looks the Inanda Dam, and it's soo
beautiful. I can't lie though I am missing my Dundee family a whole lot, I can
never forget the relationships I have had with those people. But the people
here seem pretty cool too. I can't wait to get to know them better. The church
here is in a school and there are 3 churches that meet there, some of them play
the loud music and speak in tongues so they're pretty loud yelling and playing
the instruments and the other one has about 5 people and 1 preacher just YELLS
at them hahaha it's kind of funny.
The work here is
going really well we have a couple investigators that should be baptized next week! I really like how this branch
engages itself in missionary work, there have only been a few appointments that we don't have members with us. One guy is preparing to receive his call so that will be exciting to be there when he opens it! We also got to go to an orphanage this week
which was like a paradise for me haha. I love the kids and it's crazy to see
how much they know about God and how happy they are even with the bad
circumstances they have. We also got to do a service project and I was trying
to meet everyone because I'm new and I had a prompting to get to know this
family and it turns out they are the Tshabalala family and they served with
Kanon's Grandparents when they were in Joberg! Haha such a small world, I guess
they even came to Saint George with them! How cool??? So I took some pics with
them! Other than that we met this guy named Professor he told us he's very
proud of the work we do and he has lots of people in the community that look up
to him, he asked us "do you guys ever feel like you should die for the
sins of the world, because I feel like God has chosen me to do that" that
was kind of a funny experience but at the same time it's just sad to see how
lost some people truly are. We are blessed to know the truth! The Church is
true. I am forever grateful that I have grown up in the church.
Love you guys! Have a great week!
